Was the soundclick page with Nexus with songs of the NWOBHM period ?
The link there vanished in the meantime.
If yes - did you stream it ?
The Nexus soundclick page was unfortunately dead by the time i visited it, so if there was any music on the page at some point i never got to hear it.
:(

Satan's Empire is also pretty obscure. Probably just active some months of 1980 and 1981.

Don't suppose there's anyone out there who knows more about the old Essex band AVALON featured on the Points Of Departure local sampler?

To me this is one of the best and most research-inspiring one-off comp-tunes of the (post?-)NWOBHM era:

"Soldiers of War" is certainly a serious classic off an already legendary compilation. Lead Weight might be the single most important record for the cultivation of my further interest in nwobhm bands during the last 30 years. I guess they have a 7", I have certainly never seen a copy of it.

That's an amazing track for sure, did they released/recorded more material?

I don't think they have anything else released officially Rob - exception to the track you mention on the Lead Weight compilation.

Yep - was on their page before.

Just info about the bandcamp with a tshirt to sell and recent band activity like new-line up and gigs.

No info available about a release with possible old recordings...

Talking about underground NWOBHM, any of you diehards have any info about the band Jackal that appears in this compilation http://rockstakk.shop-pro.jp/?pid=41955769?

Maybe, but the Shooting From The Hip tracks are from a 1988 demo and the NWOBHM Demo Tapes CD says 1982. Not inconceivable that there could be 2 bands named Jackal. Does anyone have a tracklist for the NWOBHM Demo Tapes CD?

EDIT: "Tearing Me In Pieces" is actually not from that demo, but "Tourniquet" and their track "Fallen Angels" on the ORGAN17ISM compilation are.

So, same band ?
I thought so.

Anyways - a obscure band as the Thread title would suggest.

I am sorry but a 7" never existed.
I contacted them some time ago for material besides the compilation track.
There are a few demos from that time and they are about to release a full length album this year.
They told me they might also release a limited edition 7".

This is very true. I recently spoke with Derek Lyon and he confirmed that a 7"single never existed. They will be releasing an lps worh of rare tracks and tracks from the Lead Weight comp ect.
