Thought about it, but wasn't sure whether to feature all 10 studio albums... could do.

Ok, poll added. Can't see anyone voting for their later offerings, but hey! I went for Awaken the Guardian.

I like 'Bröcken', but it doesn't get played very often. 'Spectre Within' has some great songs, but it also has ones I don't care for at all, where the vocal melodies are more annoying than anything else. I put it on today but had to turn it off. Then I played 'Awaken The Guardian' all the way through, there's nothing I don't like on that LP, and it connects with me in a more emotional way than any of their other records, sometimes it has really given me strength when I've needed it. Love the track 'Through Different Eyes' too, it's PERFECT, I sometimes play it over and over again.

Yeah it's really emotionally involving album and the lyrics happen to be some of the best in Heavy Metal in my opinion.

"The Spectre Within", although I was tempted to select "Disconnected" as it is really one of a kind.

I dont really fancy Arch vocals though. Too one dimensional when compared to singers like Geoff Tate. I like Ray Alder better.

Best cover: No Exit. magnificently disturbing.

It's a tough choice between Awaken the Guardian and Spectre Within, but I went with Awaken. I've never heard the post-Arch albums and I don't like Night on Brocken at all.

No Exit
Would go for Awaken blind folded if it was with with a young Adler singing, that would be absolutely majestic....Arch is flat and couldn't sing anything different than what he had showcased. He was good but tiring after listening to him for more than one album.Adler had a much wider range and way better techique by all means.

It must be the easiest poll ever. Awaken the guardian BY FAR. One of the best albums in metal history. Don't pass by, deal with it!
