Sounds better than AMOLAD and the most songs are better as well. I might actually put this on again after digesting it in the coming weeks.
It blows AMOLAD out of the water. I love AMOLAD but TFF is heaps better. Maiden are the epic metal kings. Their music is so complex and beautiful at the same time. Best album of the year imo.
Fanboy alert.

Not only is the album just out a few days, the year is far from over either. And like Fire Down Under said, epic metal it isn't. Besides, a song like Isle Of Avalon is a little to repetitive to be complex.

Just took my head phones off after my first spin. Liked the overall direction with it's non-too-obvious Maideness, but had a harder time with the actual songwriting, the production, the arrangements and the vocal lines (the way the lyrics were interpreted both technically and emotionally). Still I need more time to detect, digest and unlock, I guess.

personally i havent heard a complete Maiden album since Fear of the Dark,i find the last 4(?) albums pretty boring, same old thing but in a modern boring way...plus any of my friends here who listen to metal never ever mention new Maiden stuff ,i guess they think like me "a new Maiden album?good for them now go play some real metal"...maybe we see it as a money makingbrand nowadays instead of the great 80s band they used to be...no offense against Maiden fans,i just dont find their stuff worth checking out and even spending money on them..

N.P. Iron Maiden-Killers

now thats the stuff i do find fun and interesting :)
