Slayer-Reign in Blood is ...
kind of a pedestrian topic for this forum but ...
The internet has exposed me to opinions I have never heard before regarding this album, here's a poll to see what maniac metal collectors think.
(all options are ones I have seen expressed, if that isn't clear)
Please post choices not covered below, I'm honestly interested in your opinions.

i'm with you man on this one............omen of hate wrote:I voted #2, there are indeed a few good songs on it (Criminally Insane, Angel of Death, Post Mortem and Raining Blood) but the others are fillers.
They lost with this album the special atmosphere they had on the first two.

I voted for "best record ever", which it obviously isn't, but to me it's definitely Slayer's best record ever. It's simply a classic. The first and last songs are the best but everything in between is great also.
My 2nd favorite Slayer record is Seasons in the Abyss and 3rd is Show no Mercy. Those are also great. I have never cared that much for Hell Awaits actually, and not South of heaven either.

with mordred here. although not "the best metal record ever" (if only because such a thing doesn't exist) it is one of the, say, 20 best and the storm part of "Raining Blood" is one of THE moments in metal at all. even if it's a Black Sabbath rip-offmordred wrote:I voted for "best record ever", which it obviously isn't, but to me it's definitely Slayer's best record ever. Show No Mercy, Hell Awaits and South of Heaven come close, I personally don't care too much about Seasons in the Abyss

... A decent record with few classic cuts. I hardly ever listen to it these days though and much rather put Show No Mercy, Haunting The Chapel or Hell Await when I'm in a mood to listen to some Slayer.
