Are W.A.S.P. real metal or not? POLL ADDED PLACE YOUR VOTE

Post by Black Axe »

Split from "CAULDRON.... poser metal of the 2000s?" thread. It was pretty fucked up. Did the best I could. /Mod

Added a poll to settle this once and for all on 09/07/2011. /Mod

Are you seriously insulting WASP here?

If you can't enjoy WASP's debut, you're not a (traditional) heavy metal fan.

I love WASP but that kind of exclusionary thinking is really childish in my opinion.

I didnt really care for WASP afterward, but I was already metalhead when 1984 came out and it majorly rocked my world, and still does. Songs like Hellion and I Wanna Be Somebody have a very major place in my personal metal pantheon. If worshiping em makes me the ultimate poser, so be it.

I'm not familiar with Cauldron to make a comment on them.

I'll second what Iordan says here. Still love the first WASP album after these 25 or so years....

Metal don't get heavier than W.A.S.P. "The Headless Children" should be proof enough.

"Shit ip"?

Yeah, W.A.S.P. were pretty nasty sounding for an '80s band in make-up, but one of the rawest? They were hardly Hellhammer.
