I like Sound Barrier's Hollywood (Down On Your Luck)

Don't know that many TL covers. I like the originals way better anyway.

For the comp: Gary Moore - Emerald

Sound Barrier's 'hollywood' is the best one I can think of offhand

SUPERSUCKERS do good versions of "Cowboy Song" and "Are You Ready?", MASTODON do a nice "Emerald" and FU MANCHU's "Jailbreak" is a worthy mention too.

MASTODON and FU MANCHU shouldn't be mentioned on this forum.

At least not in "Into Battle".

Skyclad’s “Emerald” and Anthrax’s “Cowboy Song” are my favorites. Phantom Blue does a good cover of “Bad Reputation” and Sinner did one recently, but I forget what it was.

Hey, the thread's called "Favourite Thin Lizzy Covers", and they're amongst my favourite Thin Lizzy covers. It's that simple.
The Fu Manchu version in particular is heavier than much of what's been suggested already, i really don't see the problem.
A further (slightly) off-topic suggestion is DOC HOLLIDAY's surprisingly effective Sothern Rock version of "Jailbreak".
