When choosing the most favorite band, at least I can't do it purely on musical accomplishments alone, it has to have something more, and connect on a personal level somehow. For me that band is RUNNING WILD.
Also these have changed throughout the years, first it was METALLICA, then KREATOR, then I think there was a period when I couldn't really say a favorite...until it became RUNNING WILD. They still hold the place, and I can't imagine anybody pushing them from the throne. They are on another plane for me. Although nowadays I could mention also MASTER'S HAMMER as a "second favorite".

WALLOP had a quite average lead singer, but some great songs though ("Lack of power" rules).omen of hate wrote:Yes, I enjoy german steel. I know it's all a matter of taste, but WALLOP and VECTOM are far from being the best german bands, imo.
Talkin about VECTOM, I think they had been one of the best Speed Metal bands of Europe's mid-80s scene.
Raging speed and very raw vocals, that's what Speed Metal dreams are of.
the essential bands for me (for value and quantity):
IRON MAIDEN (too many masterpieces here)
JUDAS PRIEST (what a long and golden career)
BLACK SABBATH (the father of H.M.)
MANOWAR (the father of Epic metal!! my favourite style of music)
CANDLEMASS (Doom metal!! + Essential debut)
I think it's near impossible to choose only one, though.
