Canadian Steel

So what do you think of the old Canadian scene? I'd like to know more about it because the stuff that has caught my attention is really good but I bet I've missed some neat bands!

I'm into such bands as Anvil, Voivod, Infernäl Mäjesty, Razor, Blasphemy, Witchkiller, Piledriver, Solar Eagle, Sacred Blade, Deaf/Death Dealer, Exciter, Sacrifice and Sword. I've also been listening to some Rapid Tears, Mystique and Snowaxe but haven't made up my mind about them.

Any recommendations? I'd like to discover more good canuck bands. Especially interested in heavy, power, prog and thrash..

Edit. Damn it! How can I forgot Annihilator

I always thought THOR was from the states.
Anyway I haven't heard much of them. Just few songs really.

And I gotta check out Dissection too

Ok, that line was pretty provocative of me but I hate that everybody always complains about their vocals. I fell in love with them almost the minute I heard 'em the first time. Besides the music is very good and quite original.

None mentioned Breaker - In Days Of Heavy Metal MPL 1982 .In my opinion this band is the strongest HM from early Canadian scene.

Canadians do metal well, though there's always a strong american influence present.
The Lord Ryur 7" deserves mention.
Solar Eagle vocals are love 'em or hate 'em for most folks, so you're both right :) . 'Nuff said.
