The blog with the download link doesn't seem to work for me.

The Worst album released by a thrash band

Post by Stormspell »

Merged the thread with one where the topic had already been discussed. /Mod

Here are my picks, feel free to spill yours too:

DESTRUCTION - The Least Successful Human Cannonball - I don't know what drugs Mike was into when ejaculating this album, but it must have been something beyond horrible...

CORONER - Grin - back in 1993 I was on the bus going to the University smirking at some crazy grunge kid raving to his buddies about this new "mega-awesome grunge band" called CORONER. Little did I know how right he was and what bitter disappointment awaits me later that night after I bought and played the tape for the first (and last!) time...

FORBIDDEN - Distortion / Green - I blame Gaytera and Machine Head for the demise of one of the best Bay Area thrash bands... how the mighty have fallen...

TESTAMENT - The Ritual - so mediocre and boring I felt ripped of even after picking this from the $0.99 cut-out bin...

KREATOR - Outcast / Endorama - I was so excited when I heard Tommy T. Baron is joining Kreator. How such godly shredder coupled with one of the best old-school thrash bands can produce such pile o'crap is totally beyond me...

METALLICA - Everything after the Black Album - Nuff said

Do you mean by classic thrash band or 'nu'??

MUNICIPAL WASTE - Hazardous Mutation - so much hype, yet so average.. just about everything by this band is bad thrash IMO..

..and GAMA BOMB aren't far behind!
Why are a wise man & a wise guy opposites?

The entire Toxic Holocaust & Municipal Waste discography.

And I just had the same story as you with Testament's The Ritual hahaha. Shitty to the max. I remember I thought "did they try to follow Metallica and their Black Album??"

I will think of a list but right now I got no time.

I like some of the songs on that one. Not the best in any way but in my opinion nowhere near as bad as the others you mention.

I'll add Anthrax. Especially everything from the John Bush era.

Those mentioned are really crap!
Havent heard in many years but Gothic Slams albums were horrible.
And Re-Animator albums.

I really don't know where to start from...anything by ACID REIGN would be a good contender for place #1 though.

Death Angel - Act III

And I'm not sure this can be called Thrash.

Violent Playground "Thrashin' Blues" is really unbearable with it's totally random and uninspired pseudo-thrash sections coupled with something that is supposed to resemble blues.

D.A.M. - Human Wreckage
Think "boring thrash" is an oxymoron?
Think again!
In fact, the UK struggled badly when it came to thrash metal, Xentrix, Drunken State, Reanimator etc were all pretty awful.
Acid Reign, although poor on record, were a riotously fun live act, as were Lawnmower Deth, so they're exempt as far as i'm concerned.
The Bomb Disneyland "Why Not?" album holds fond memories for me though and holds up today, at least in part, but of course they managed to disappear up their own arses after the magic kingdom's lawyers forced a name change to Bomb Everything and they went "industrial".
Sigh.
I cannot, I shall not, I will not obey.
