The biggest cringe on Cacophony for me is "The Old Man Is Not So Terribly Misanthropic". It's still an astounding album, & was a real brain-opener when I first got it 18 - 18! - years ago.

They have to be metal songs? 'cause otherwise I'm gonna name "Moonlight Shadow". I don't even know who's the one playing that song, but I hate it with every fiber of my being and my mom was listening to it today.

Yeah, that was my intention. I suppose we could have an unmetal equivalent in the Land of Mystery.

The Mike Oldfield original or the crappy Eurodance version?

Ha! I quite like Mike Oldfield! Great guitar player, and especially of course the monumental Tubular Bells!

Yeah, I've a soft spot for the original "Moonlight Shadow". The Groove Coverage version just makes me realise Culture Beat weren't that bad.

Another crap song: Decrepit Uth's "Would Your Mother Approve". Charmless whinging chauvinism.

Bronski Beat

Haha, Hypnotic Tango, talk about a song that sucks. And I meant the original version, if the other one is worst, thanks to Cthulhu I haven't heard it

Desecration's "Death's Revenge". I really like the Cowboys in Bondage demo, but this is really comical. The vocals must have been a big influence on Torn Flesh.

I nominate "A Night to Remember". They'd have been better off covering the Shalamar song. FUCK OFF COWBELL FUCK.
