Old Scandinavian/North-European Thrash Metal
I know that Thrash Metal scene wasn't the greatest thing around here but was there anything worth checking? Any hidden gems? And what opinions do you have about North-European Thrash (excluding Russia now) anyway?
From Finland I know just STONE, AIRDASH & NATIONAL NAPALM SYNDICATE.
If I recall correctly the two others were pretty boring but STONE is ok. Though they don't make it to my favourites.

Well the problem with at least finnish scene is that most of it doesn't sound very original or inspired to me. But I must confess I'm not very familiar with scandithrashAbyss wrote:overall I don't consider the Scandinavian Thrash scene too strong because of obvious strengths in other genres

I would add at least PRESTIGE. DETHRONE could also count (their Speed Metal is pretty thrasy IMHO), PROTECTED ILLUSION, A.R.G. (both more Deathrash), MENGELE, CHARGED, A.O.D., MAPLE CROSS (more tech), DAMAGE, DIRTY DAMAGE (thrashcore) ...
Check Isten page for more info, although I think you said you don't like it, if I remember correctly.

Forgot about Prestige! I haven't heard much from them so it's time to check out the band more properly.
Haven't said anything against Isten but now that you mention it, I wish you could search bands by genre tooNoisenik wrote:Check Isten page for more info, although I think you said you don't like it, if I remember correctly.

Like i have said some time ago Scandinavia was not too famous for it's Thrash Metal(Germany,Poland,Czechoslovakia,Yugoslavia too name a few countries ruled for Thrash Metal) as for other genres bands it produced.
The only bands i love that play Thrash metal from Scandinavia are CRANIUM and GUILLOTINE.Interesting but not so good are AIRDASH.

ALTARS OF DESTRUCTION (AOD) - demos + "7 (they are back)
OPPRESSION - demos + "7 (which was more to techno/slow thrash fantastic)
THE HIRVI demo (Kreator fans would love this!!)
NECROMANCER - demos + "12 (which sucked)
NUCLEAR DISASTER - reh stuff/demo
+ some other more obscre shit
