Rainbow - Catch the Rainbow for sure.
Blue Oyster Cult - Wings Wetted Down.
Does Iron Maiden - Hallowed Be Thy Name count as a ballad?

dont think so, unless one of the best heavy metal songs ever written turns out to be a ballad, which is not logic at all :P

Has anyone heard Maninnya Blade`s Raven? It is an absolutely awesome semi-ballad (half of the song is slow and dark, the other one is much faster) made in the mid 80s that never got vinylized. Absolutely recommended.

Also, I am pretty shore that "the Sorcerer" by Lords of the Crimson Alliance has already been mentioned in this thread, but seeing it is one of the best ballads I have ever heard it deserves to be praised more. Don`t even tell me you don`t get gooseskin when you listen to it.

Runner - Falling Hearts

Best song of the LP !

Tyrant - Lost and Lonely
Angel Heart - The reason I survive
Antix - Somewhere in my Heart
Ruffians - You are all I need
Slaven - Slave To The Heart

I like this kind of ballads, life and nostalgic lyrics, NO love:
Motor Perpetuo - El Cielo puede Llegar
