Look at this like a karmic scale.
The True Lord in Heaven blesses those that are pious and righteous
Lordian Guard - War in Heaven
Forsaken - Domineaon
Saviour Machine - Legion
Fate decrees the suffering of the vigilant and strong
Fates Warning - Guardian
Candlemass - A Sorcerer's Pledge
Omen - In The Arena
Manilla Road - Dreams of Eschaton
And yes, grandoise be the malevolent blight of EVIL:
My Dying Bride - Symphonaire Infernus at Espera Empyrium
In The Woods... - Wotan's Return

BATHORY - One Road To Asa Bay
Probably the single one song that got me hooked to metal in the first place, around 1990.
MANILLA ROAD - Metal
Predates Manowar by a year or two, but is probably more epic than anything the lads in leather underpants ever managed to churn out.
THE GATES OF SLUMBER - God Wills It
What?? A song from last year? Yes, and it's bloody great as well. For fans of true doom/heavy metal. Don't miss.
CANDLEMASS - A Sorceror's Pledge
A bit cheesy, yes I know, but we're looking for epic songs here, not necessarily the most kick-ass metallic ones. Besides, Langquist was the only true Candlemass singer, period.
JAG PANZER - The Crucifix
Anyone besides me get goosebumps when the Tyrant lets off his characteristic scream about 4 minutes into the song? Classic.
CIRITH UNGOL - King Of The Dead
Absolutely chilling. You can substitute this one for "Finger Of Scorn" any day, they're equally fantastic.
LEGEND (US) - The Golden Bell
As mentioned by others before me. This is the kind of reward you get for spending countless years searching for obscure music. It's worth every minute, and every penny.
And last but NOT least:
WICKED LADY - Ship Of Ghosts
Has anyone heard of this band besides me? If you haven't - shame on you. 22 minutes of epic acid/psych/doom from the early 70's. You just can't beat it.

Agreed, stellar song!Capricorn wrote:Manilla Road - Mark of the Beast! (Epic beyond measure. A song which is the high point of all Manilla Road for me. Incredible vocals from Mark and some of his most legendary solos on record.)
From which album is that one?DRY COUNTY - Bon Jovi
