I bought recently the rerelease of KHAOS' Forjando en Rocka 1985 album, and I have to admit that it's a really good piece of traditional Metal (i.e. like JUDAS PRIEST, etc). It's harder than expected, and the remastering is good. It seems that they had quite a good reputation there back then.

Inner Sanctum from Uruguay, though not too old as they are from early 90es, released a pure Celtic Frost "To Mega Therion" influenced CD called "Frozen Souls". Also some Death influences there. Just awesome.

The GRAF SPEE mp3s someone posted here in the Poisonoise section are insane Metal for sure!

And I forgot I had that ALVACAST rerelease on Dies Irae. I didn't took the time to plunge myself into it, but it had some good parts if I remember well.

Yes,the only band I've got from Uruguay is ALVACAST but nothing more,as far as I am concerned..''Innocente...'' and ''Black testament'' releases.Generally,I like the old central and south American bands but I'd like to find out more bands from Uruguay and some from Paraguay.

Well most of you can take a look at Metaleros.de there´s a lot information
in that site.Particulary here in Argentina there´s not much movement exept
for a few(Horcas,Hermetica-disbanded-V8-the roots of Metal in Argentina).
But the scene in general in South America is too poor,I mean in releases,
´cause the economy in Latin America is a problem for all of us.The goberments takes all and they don´t give a hope to carry on.In this Lands
is very dificult to start something if you don´t have the money enough and
the supporting of too much people envolve in the music industry :(
Well in Paraguay,Uruguay,Chile, any of you can imagine Metal in Bolivia,if
in Argentina goes a little fine in Bolivia doesn´t works that way :(
Well and the blood runs and runs.
Now I´m going to work see ya METALBROTHERS.

I would mention bands of different kinds of Metal like:

Perseo, Kraken, Reencarnación, Darkness and Atanathor from Colombia
Panzer, Farenheit, Death Yell, Pentagram from Chile
V8, Riff, Thor, El Dragon, Hellion from Argentina
Arkangel, Resistencia, Gillman from Venezuela
Harppia, Clavion, Firebox, Cortina de ferro from Brasil

Not Central? But Latin for sure.

I guess an 80's band from Paraguay or Bolivia would be a miracle to find. I think these countries were too poor at the time and aren't they still? Saying that with no offense meant of couse.

Is this El Dragonne LP from Argentina anything good? I heard or read somewhere that keyboards are involved and that is something I really don't like most of the time (except the ones used in for example Hell, Saracen, etc), but maybe I'm wrong.
