Is that yours ?

It is well done but a little bit weird imo. Weird and/or totally German. You guys are crazy but it's cool :D

Anyway, I agree with you on Dark Medieval Times, fantastic album and one of the symbols of an era that'sz forever gone.

It's weird that he left just before the last tour of the band. Not cool for the crowd.

As everybody said before: THAT'S A HARD CHOICE!

I've voted for the self titled, because this is the beginning and it contains the essence of Quorthon's awesome riffing style.

But I like The Return, UTSOTBM, BFD and HAmmerheart a lot too.

Now come on, I respect your position, but this is making a huge leap and you know it isn't justified. Well from my point of view a lot of the stuff people idolize in here doesn't stand up to inspection, but gets special treatment because it's rare and obscure. This isn't a huge leap then, to sugges...

This album is a strong mix of Heavy Metal, Prog Rock and Thrash Metal. It defies categories, it's 100% Metallica. To my knowledge it has never been remastered and today it still rocks without pushing the volume so far. I think in 1986 it litterally blasted your houses. Songwriting is super-great (ca...

No, A Blaze in the Northern Sky was actually released a few months prior to Burzum in addition to being recorded a few months earlier. The former was recorded in late '91, whereas the former was not recorded until "Mid-Winter 1992" (I'm guessing February). Of course, much of the material that ended...

Yes, of course, they don't come out of nowhere. Fenriz also stated that they all got the Live in Leipzig on tape in 90/91. DARKTHRONE "just" have the privilege to have unleashed their LP before all their mates. But very soon Burzum, Enslaved, Immortal etc. came. As for De Mysteriis, it's one of my f...

To answer the initial question, from my own experience and quest into BM: DARKTHRONE, with their second LP, are the first to throw off all the thrash elements, oldschool and obsolete (in term of violence) elements and start to play modern/second wave Black Metal. This is why A Blaze is: 1/ a classic...
