I guess I'm posting this because of the thread being about blacks in NWOBHM in the last few pages, but if you click on the YouTube name and view it in another tab, that channel has mainly NWOBHM demo-only bands, I think he also put out some reissues.

Re: Same Riff??? (Riff-Off)
The vocal lines are very similar, not the guitar riffs although they share some similarities. The second is much faster.

Should there be another thread for vocal lines which are almost the same?

Re: The history of rock music in China - Part 1: the beginning
I quite like Cobra, a 90s all-girl band, formed in 1989.

They apparently also played some shows in the US. Broke up in the late 90s.

Re: Swords of Steel Omnibus - Metal/Fantasy Anthology
Interesting, I was reading about this on Legendry's Bandcamp page, and it says it's a follow-up to the events on their latest album. So then there are no other stories other than the lyrics for the earlier period?

Re: Interesting band from Africa
In case anyone is interested. https://forum.metal-archives.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=123943 They sound pretty modern, I don't see how they can be hard rock. They got classified as nu-metal because of the rap parts, which almost sound like something from an 80s Metallica song or something but a ti...

Arka'n from Togo. Apparently they've been around for about 9 years, but their album just came out this year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6Nl0A_nVxU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AJJDqd-q-A They also have a Bandcamp page: https://arkan1.bandcamp.com/releases Blacklisted from the Metal Archive...

Paralex. http://www.paralex.rocks/ Not sure they play concerts, but they did record their album. They also have a new video, with cheap new instruments www.youtube.com/watch?v=as4C0L9cYhY unlike their older videos where they all had Gibsons (except for the bassist). www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqGd5vCic...

Re: Wrong Speed Metal
Hell if I know what the band is because it's not anywhere on the album. The name of the record label was indeed there, but I borrowed the album from someone and I don't have it now. It was some Finnish doom/sludge, in Finnish. It had some cartoon drawing on the cover. Sounded tired and lethargic at ...

I think the song I heard was in either Finnish, Hungarian, Turkish or some East Asian language, definitely not English.

Re: Toxik - Breaking Class Ep
I disagree with the production being bad, it sounds great to me. Yes, it is modern, but for comparison I checked out Century Media, also on Bandcamp so as to not change the format (to youtube or something that sounds different). The Century Media stuff was over-compressed, and you still couldn't hea...

I'm pretty sure it wasn't in English either, but I can't remember what it was. Maybe someone else on here knows.

Re: Anti-communist metal (1980s)
As far as the other side of Atlantic is concerned: Omen - Red Horizon, Destructor -The Iron Curtain and probably many other protestish songs. I'm from Poland, but I can't recall any anticommunist heavy metal track made here in the socialist era (unless I should read between the lines). It wasn't ea...
