It would be realistic to believe that the HELL box will be out maybe two years from now... After all, the Desolation Angels box were supposed to be out early 2005, and it's still "almost ready". These things aren't made in the blink of an eye. I for one wish that Rich Walker had rather foc...

Re: The other Bay Area

Meliah Rage had the most commercial success and while I like them their sound isn’t really typical of the area. I absolutely dig Meliah Rage! I always thought they don't get the recognition they deserve among true metallers. They play crushing, powerful metal the Metal Church way and in my opinion ...

I've been wanting to get into Kat for quite some time, but it seems so hard to come by a 666 LP. All I keep seeing is the Metal and Hell and I don't want any piss poor english substitute. :(

Dyoxen - "First Among Equals" would probably be an album right up your alley. I think it's the only one they ever did. Destruction also turned quite technical by their underrated "Cracked Brain". One of their best albums I think!

For me CANDLEMASS anniversary show is the finest hour so far this year. They did everything I wanted too, and both an Epicus set w/ Languist and a Chapter VI set w/Vikström can't be topped. Other than that, Heaven and Hell/Black Sabbath were amazing at Sweden Rock Festival, as were Portrait. Celtic ...

One of NWOBHM's finest. Had these recordings been released as an album back in 1983 it would have slayed most of the competition. "Shadows of the Night" is maybe me no 1 favourite song from the NWOBHM movement. It's such an incredible powerhouse of furios riffage and relentless metal might.

Did they have a song that was a total rip off of Tank's "Just Like Something from Hell" or was that some other polish band? My KAT knowledge is next to zero i'm afraid.

The question is: Did Bobby Liebling actually write anything new after ca 1990, or did he just re-record old 70's chestnuts to fill the Pentagram studio albums to come? :D I have one of those albums, Review Your Choices. It's made out of entirely rerecorded songs from the 70's Pentagram era + some ne...

Matter of taste, I'd say. And I think it should be defined which are the most obscure 80's Metal bands. By that I mean those praised "über-rar and totally kvlt" private presses that sells for $$$$$$$$ on ebay. Many of these are very mediocre. A few are actually pretty fucking good. Most f...

Just saw this on the back of EXUMER's "Possessed By Fire" LP: No special thanks but pure hate goes out to Ralf Ludwig for cheating us and all the people who ordered our demotape . (emphasis mine) WTF!? "Yeah, tell 'em guys! Tapetraders are scum!" The story goes that this R...

Well, it wasn't superior you see. Not by definition. As a matter of fact I can only think of two factors that would raise the 80's above the present. 1. Production. Today metal records are often produced, mixed and mastered by faggots and therefore sound like shite. This, however, may be a matter of...
