Just saw this on the back of EXUMER's "Possessed By Fire" LP: No special thanks but pure hate goes out to Ralf Ludwig for cheating us and all the people who ordered our demotape . (emphasis mine) WTF!? "Yeah, tell 'em guys! Tapetraders are scum!" The story goes that this R...

Well, it wasn't superior you see. Not by definition. As a matter of fact I can only think of two factors that would raise the 80's above the present. 1. Production. Today metal records are often produced, mixed and mastered by faggots and therefore sound like shite. This, however, may be a matter of...

The joy of heaviness or speed you get from playing at a different rotation velocity is often killed by the weird pitch that follows. Much more fun then to have a digital sound editing tool. like Cool Edit pro for instance, and alter the tempo of an mp3 while leaving the pitch unchanged. It's fun as ...

God, I must be the only person on the planet to consider "Pleasures of the Flesh" the best Exodus LP.

Yes. So better than In the Shadows. That makes it... as good as Don't Break the Oath. Totally unimportant side note: I would definetely consider Lords of Hypocrisy a comeback album, as it was the first release following around 20 years in retirement and since it is actually a newly recorded...

The debut is the only regular LP release worth listening to. Vic Wright is just horrible.
But I strongly recommend the "Night of the Blade - The Night Before" CD, which is basically Night of the Blade in its original form, with Alan Marsh on vocals.

I didn't catch you.You mean there are two other demos apart from the three 81,83,86 demos?and second live? No, I meant that the 81 and 83 demos plus the live recording of 85 were unheard before I sought them out a few years ago. There are no more studio recordings, according to Mårten Edlund. No, t...

Interesting you'd say that. Being swedish and thus understanding the language I could never interprete it as "gloomy". 8) The Nattsvart 7" is mandatory of course, and Helvetets Port continue the tradition partly. There were a bunch of demo acts in the 80's who sang in swedish - and so...

my explanation is that the label(metal blade), by the time of "Run to the Light" came out, advertised (and I mean by advertised in printed magazines and elsewhere) that they were a x-ian band. That is all I am saying. I could give a fuck what the lyrics are about, it is classic doom pure ...

Isn't quite well known that Quorthon was a huge fan of prime era Manowar?

As far as I am concerned, "Hammerheart" (best Bathoyr album) pretty much recreates the atmosphere Manowar had on "Into Glory Ride".

What is it with old, traditional doom bands and christianity anyway? Not only Trouble and Saint Vitus but also Count Raven praising Jehova's name. Quite strange. The song that got me hooked on Saint Vitus some years ago was "Prayer for the Masses" off "Hallow's Victim". I thought...
