Re: Best-Favorite NWOBHM LPs ?

Since 1988 and 1989 are obviously too late to be considered as part of NWOBHM I replace the two Cloven Hoofs on my list with Clover Hoof - s/t and Grim Reaper's See You In Hell.

Re: Best-Favorite NWOBHM LPs ?

"Spellbound" is my favorite TOPT album as well. I put "Tyger Bay" on the list with the best NWOBHM songs I've ever heard.

Re: Band You Saw Live the Most Times

but less good each subsequent time i saw them With very few exceptions, this could apply to almost every band I saw more than 1-2 times. For example, Priest were quite good with Ripper first time I saw them, but with a so-so setlist. Next time with Halford they had a better setlist, but I wasn't ex...

Is the TRIDENT anthology on No Remorse worth getting? Any opinions?
Wasn't very impressed. Nothing that can match "Destiny". Not even close in fact.

Forgot to add HELL - I do not like all of their demo tracks, but those that are good could really make a monumental album

Re: VIRGIN STEELE 'Invictus' (And Other Albums)

They also take two stabs at longer, more epic songs with 'Noble Savage' and 'Angel of Light' each clocking in at over 7 minutes. Neither is bad, but neither is a grand slam either. I understand that the last minutes of "Noble Savage" might spoil the fun you had with the rest of the track,...

Re: opinions about the old French metal scene

No Remorse is releasing H & H compilation which features they single and that 11 track demo. Really cool news! Anyone heard this yet? Another one of those "Awesome-single/bad-demos" affairs a la your random NWOBHM 2LP HRR reissue? :| Yes, that's pretty much how it is. The demo tracks ...

VIRTUE - They scored 5/5 with the 3 demo tracks. SWEET SAVAGE - Those early tracks are unfuckinbelievable. One of my faves ever. They rerecorded some of them in '96 but the magic wasn't there anymore TYRANT - The Hold Back the Lightning band LOTUS CRUISE - The 7'' is top-notch for me, there are rumo...

Re: Now Playing Thread (2016)

I am not really into newer stuff, that EP is great though. Can't say I put it in any top list of mine because I can barely find 2-3 things that I really like each year. Very convincing and the feeling is as authentic as it can possibly get 30 years later. I only wish they improve their choruses a li...
