AJFA? :? Don't you mean RTL? Not really. I don't like much Metallica's basic Thrash stuff like RTL and MoP although both have some good moments sure. The reason I like Kill 'Em All is because it's nwobhm-fueled half speed, half thrash metal album and in AJFA I like the technothrashtic tendencies. S...

Best THRASH METAL album of the year 1986

This year seems to be the magical year (or turning point) for Thrash Metal to many. Slayer and Metallica released their most popular albums the same year for example. I'm not much of a RiB or MoP fan myself (I prefer Show No Mercy and Hell Awaits from Slayer, Kill 'Em All and AJFA from Metallica) bu...

Oh my! "Gubbrock-ish" riffs, horrible lyrics "I'm gonna get screwed, brewed and tattooed tonight" and embarrassing delivery. Over all it's million miles from Behemoth. I'll pass.

Re: Recurring Lyrical Themes in Metal

The medieval fantasy imagry is one of the mainstays of heavy metal music. Be it vikings, axemen, enchanted swords, templars, hobbits, albino elves, dragons, knights, castles, etc., I'd wager this is the most popular lyrical topic for heavy metal bands over the years. What I wonder is- why? How many...

This band belongs in the same group as Demon in my opinion. Edit: and I just realized that Zherneboh is probably the same guy that gave the voltz album a 97% on the METAL archives... And what's wrong with that? I mean liking the album so much? I don't care for them much myself but I do like some si...

Whoa...cant believe Raven's getting a bad rep here. Just curious guys, whats wrong with albums like Rock until you drop, Wiped Out, All For One Nothing really. As I said I concider Rock until you drop a minor classic but for me Metal on Metal, Forged in Fire and Pound for Pound is a lot better trio.

I think Raven's above mediocre but not as much as Anvil. I concider Raven's debut album a minor classic.

This is pretty easy for me. I sure like the Raven albums alot but Anvil's Forged In Fire is some of my alltime favourite metal. Would be in my top 40 HM records list. If I had to choose would I rather live without Raven or Anvil I wouldn't waste a blink of an eye. It's funny though.. Both bands rele...

Yeah that's a good one. Their later albums weren't bad at all but the debut is my favourite.

I would like to state that i have gotten blackout drunk listening to the 2nd Railway LP many times. Commercial? Yes. Cheesy? Yes. Who cares......."Lick It, Stick It" is sleazy and fun!! That's it - I'm off checking the blogs right now... Almost pissed myself laughing to mustardgasat...
