Re: 80's Metal fanzines - discussions/tips/page-feedback (CONTRIBUTORS WANTED!)

Still need to translate that second part of the Hell interview, haven't forgotten.

Some great additions once again. Many local zines. One even reviewing Necrovore? Where did those guys go and where are their collections...

Re: 80's Metal fanzines - discussions/tips/page-feedback (CONTRIBUTORS WANTED!)

I'd love to do it but I simply don't have the time at the moment. I'll make sure to translate the rest of the Hell interview though.

Dan, any Metalian (BE - editor 'Metal biest') zines in your stash?

Re: 80's Metal fanzines - discussions/tips/page-feedback (CONTRIBUTORS WANTED!)

First page done. Bear in mind that I'm translating from my third language into my second language, and I'm not a professional translator... The musicians in Hell are very lucky not to have been born a few centuries earlier in a village like Salem or Providence: they would have ended their carreer on...

Re: Early SODOM

Don't worry Zanker, some people are doomed never to own the American version. I have three copies of the Steamhammer edition but never found a Metal blade one. And I missed out on the reissue double LP and now everyone's charging >50 euro for it, which I refuse to pay.

Re: 80's Metal fanzines - discussions/tips/page-feedback (CONTRIBUTORS WANTED!)

Haha, my village is being called a backward hamlet in the Flemish countryside in that French written magazine. Denderhoutem? Metallysee fest was there? KInda cool. Around my place there was a lot of metalheads, living in "small backwater" villages, LOL. Bcs, there wasn't much more than small backwa...

Re: The Mighty ZEKE Return With 'Hellbender'!

Incredible record! Their most exxxtreme effort so far! Saw them live yesterday here in Belgium. As always an incredible experience. One of the best live bands ever! Wanted to go but the misses had already bought tickets for Eyehategod the same evening. Well, Zeke was on fire (like always), but face...

Stale verhalen, Orkaan, Braindamage,...seems like you got this from someone from the lowlands? Looks like a great score!

Re: Weird Finds While Cleaning Out Your Collection

Mostly stuff that I had multiple copies off without knowing. Found a misplaced second copy of Sabbat - Live batan-q lp a few months ago. And was happy to get an Exmortes 7" last year. Only to find out I already owned one when I wanted to put it away. When it comes to shirts I can discover something ...

Re: What's Still Great 20 Years Later?

Not a lot of good albums on that list. I got into metal one year later so for most bands my first album was the follow-up to the album in this list. In general though, not the best era for metal. If I can add one album to the list that did age well: Queens of the stone age debut. I've always been a ...

Re: Band You Saw Live the Most Times

Maybe I project my situation too much on other people. Pretty much all tours pass within an one hour drive. I quite often drive longer distances so I could in theory see gigs pretty much every day. I wouldn't spend my money on KIT (anymore). My cynical side takes over when I type this, but the last ...

Re: Band You Saw Live the Most Times

I have to say I am somewhat surprised of the low numbers in this thread. Or do you guys only post the big bands and not the underground bands? There's probably two dozen bands that I've seen more than 5 times, and I only started going to concerts in 2000. Then again, I visit 30-40 shows a year proba...

Re: Band You Saw Live the Most Times

Besides some local bands I'd have to say Bolt thrower. Seen them between 10 and 15 times in 5 countries. No real story here, I just loved the band and would try to catch them live often. I also never minded driving a few hours for a gig, even if it was just for one band. Metal has been a big part of...
