Re: Rare Videos/Clips

Oh yeah, War Cry were great, especially the much anticipated "Forbidden Evil"!

Re: Unknown NWOBHM demos and "demo only" bands

Thanks a lot for giving an insight about it! The name of the song featured on the demo comp is "Don't look back" and apparently there's other two songs on that 82 tape (it says that on the back of the cd, which I don't own but a friend does). Also about the tracks on the "Shooting Fr...

Re: The WORST albums released by a thrash band?

Climbin' The Walls is one of my favorite thrash albums of all time. OK, maybe not pure thrash but thrash influenced? I love their demo period too but they lost me with the second LP and all the Souls At Zero stuff.

Re: What year do you feel NWOBHM ended?

I seem to recall hearing that demo before. It's the same Ram that appeared on the first Rock Meets Metal comp right?

Re: "WARNING! NOT METAL!"-gallery...

OK, much of that Malefice album might not fit our definition of metal, but this:

is worlds apart from this:

Re: Unknown NWOBHM demos and "demo only" bands

Maybe, but the Shooting From The Hip tracks are from a 1988 demo and the NWOBHM Demo Tapes CD says 1982. Not inconceivable that there could be 2 bands named Jackal. Does anyone have a tracklist for the NWOBHM Demo Tapes CD? EDIT: "Tearing Me In Pieces" is actually not from that demo, but &...

Re: Humble beginnings

I have recorded first four emission, afterwards I relied on memory. In these next I was rewarded with tracks by Forbidden, Xentrix and Sabbat. These I was looking for - thrash was genre for me. Today I am quite sorry that I didn't record more of these emissions they would make excellent compis. Do ...

Re: Favorite Judas Priest Album?

Painkiller for me. The fact that myself and others here agree that the title track is the worst on the album is a testament to its strength, because really the only thing wrong with it is that it's a bit too long for the amount of repetitive play it received. I also have to confess some nostalgia be...

Re: Closest to '76-'78 Priest you may get???

OK, I don't think anyone will come close to that Dan Jefferies track (wow, I need to track that LP down!)

One of my favorite tracks that I shared on the Compilation Encyclopedia listener's companion Volume 2 has a strong early Priest sound, and that is Shepherd - The Power.

I believe I've come across quite a few examples on various compilations. Is this the type of thing you are looking for?

My current hometown is devoid of metal, but Steel Assassin are from Brockton, MA which is just 2 towns over.
