Not the most obscure of melodic metal bands, but I think the first three albums of Nocturnal Rites are great. Especially "Tales Of Mystery And Imagination"! "Programmed" by Lethal is also a classic!

Banshee (Can) - "Breakdown". Can't get this uptempo heavy metal-crusher out of my head for the last couple of days...which is a very good thing!!! Too bad the B-side of this 7" was a letdown.
