Does anyone have the early Blaspheme demo (including non-lp tracks “Saint d'Esprit” and “Te Lour”). If so pleeeeaaaase upload. I only know of this one: http://80sfrenchmetal.blogspot.com/2006/06/blaspheme-demo-1982.html It's not available anymore and there's no "Le Tour" on it, but if you...

Seems like you and your brother had your separate pulls towards Dionysus and Apollo, heh. It's strange for me because I can understand the attraction to thrash and one of my favorite subgenres of HM is technothrash, but I wouldn't say I'm a very dionysian person on the whole. There *is* thrash that...

Well my definition is only useful in my dialogue with myself essentially. I don't care for pretensions of 'objectivity' nor do I frankly understand where they come from. What makes Motorhead or Venom HM bands is that they transgress and transcend the limits of party time music. It may not oftenseem...

Hah I see. But why 'no thrash'? Tell me more of this early... schizm between heavy metallers and the 'punks with long hair'. Don't know what there is to tell. To me it's entirely a matter of taste. Thrash never had that much of an impact on me. Sure, I like a lot of it, but it has never been first ...

Stormspell: Sorry if I seem to have tried to put your work down. This was not my intention. My post was more of a gut reaction kind - seeing the original "art"-work being replaced by one that just didn't click with me immediately. I very much support (and applaude) the work that you and ot...

seems that no one cares for the good-old-commercial-oriented British Steel huh? well it was my first Priest record so it has special meaning to me, but i think it contains one of the best priest songs, "The Rage" Maybe we "think" that we know it so well that we keep fo...

That's the best of the first Fates LP but certainly they did much much better HM since then! By 88, good god, Awaken the Guardian was out! Also odd choice for the Exxplorer song since I think they did better on that same record but perhaps that's me. Great call on Iron Angel! I was sixteen at the t...

I just found an old compilation cassette I made sometime in 1988-89. Beneath the pretentious but not too missleading title of "HEAVY METAL AT IT'S BEST!" these titles were to be found. These are the songs of the day. Let the headbanging mania begin! Side A Ded Engine - Till Deaf do us Part...

It's a bit hit'n'miss, but their song off Metal Massacre V is bloody brilliant imo.

I kind of like Point of Entry too. Not only was it the first Heavy Metal recording I ever bought (cassette - not vinyl). In fact, had they released the first six songs (Side A and Solar Angels) as a Mini-album, to these ears, we'd have a true JP classic (albeit a rather laidback and soft one).

I've got a Lady Pank LP at home which I found at some fleamarket a few years back. Haven't listened to it. Don't remember the title. Got to make amends. I´ll be back (also hoping to have found some other representatives to this non-genre within the bleak confinements of my "skivrum"). As f...

Saxon have always seemed to be a nice bunch of fellows (not touching the stronger stuff, settling for tea and all that).

And they were never nicer than in this line.
Maybe you can learn to play the bass
See there's hope for every one of us!
