Re: Neal Tanaka

Thanks! I updated the first post so now all pics and lists are there.

Also, I identified B5 on the HMH booklet as Wise Man - First Warning.

Re: Awesome songs that survived only as live recordings

On that now defunct website with plenty of Detroit Rock bands there was a live recording that really kicked ass. I really miss that site. Lizzy Borden - "Dark Shadows": Performed live in the early 1990s but never officially released. Not their best work by a long shot, just a cool piece f...

Re: Rare/bargain compilations (not mine)

Best of luck to you! The Recording Workshop albums are incredibly rare, but most aren't worth the time to listen to them. However, this one has one amazing epic folk metal track by Citadel ("Lothlorien"): http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Recording-Workshop-Rare-Advanced-Workshop-Winter-1982-LP-...

Re: Rare/bargain compilations (not mine)

I knew I resurrected this thread for a reason! Glad you were able to snag one Dan, it looks like they have more but the price goes up every time. Here's a rare Welsh comp. It's definitely on the lighter side, but I really like the melodic post-NWOBHM of the HELYNT track: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VARI...

Re: Race Against Time, finally!

I agree that none of the tracks had quite the same effect on me as "Bedtime", but I still think it is a solid album with some really great songs. Not even close to the dud that that Badge CD is.

Re: The Complete* Encyclopedia Of FWOEHM Singles

I love 'reject' lists. Often times for the really odd and obscure stuff it gets pawned off by sellers as something it isn't. When a reject list is coupled with a 'acceptance' list it adds a lot more perspective to why is is rejected. I've been wondering if we should do something like this for the c...

Re: Mace - demo 1992

Finally had a chance to listen the demo and it's great! Much better than their earlier tracks. Thanks for posting it. I have to say they were pretty brave playing this style in MA in '92. My experience at was that anyone on the local scene playing metal lighter than Meliah Rage were typically laughe...

Re: Recent Metal Finds (2015)

Anything good on those radio station comp albums? The Texan ones always seem to hold lots of potential for Metal, Hard Rock & Southern Rock finds, so the 'Houston Home Cookin'' LP caught my eye/imagination in particular. I quite like Mariner - "I'm Alone" from WTUE Homegrown II. You c...
