Those who love the old school Swedish Death Metal should check out the band Graveyard from Spain. They recorded a great demo that's being rereleased as vinyl and CD. Very good stuff in the Swedish vein.

Bulldözer, fuck yes! My favorite one is The Final Separation. More speed than thrash, at least their first two, I haven't payed much attention to the other ones.

Somebody mentioned Slaughter.I have always considered them more in the Death Metal genre, but Strappado is one of the best extreme metal albums ever.

To be honest, I have never been a big fan of the swedish sound. Of course, the big ones are amazing and I hear their music all the time (by the big ones, I mean Nihilist/Entombed, Grave, etc). From Carnage I like the demos better than the album. But I find bands like Funebre (who were actually from ...

I think I didn't see anybody reccomendig Hirax! All of their albums are great, but my favorite is "Hate, Fear And Power". Also, if you don't mind the speed/thrash to be a bit mixed up with other genres, I'd reccomend Amebix - "Arise" (crust influences) and The Accüsed - "The...

I heard a few songs I downloaded from soulseek, and if I'm not wrong they sounded pretty much like Vitus, maybe just a bit rawer and maybe a bit faster, but I don't remember any major difference with the classic Vitus sound. And yes, probably Psychopath is my favorite SV song of all times, but since...

I like Psychopath better from that album, somehow it makes me feel like I'm in Arkham in the 1920s.

About Chandler, I didn't include him because he doesn't excludes the other categories. I mean, he just did vocals in some songs, he was never "the vocalist" of SV. Plus, if I'm not wrong, he did vocals with the three different vocalists in the line up.

I was sure that the guy from Count Raven wouldn't get any votes (don't go to vote him now just to prove that I'm wrong) but I included him so the poll would be more complete. I'm glad to see that as a "newbie" I made the same choice as most of you, who are into this for several years. It m...

Well, I think that he might have a point since I said I first think of Törr and I'm a Y2K metalhead. Actually I think that I've heard Master's Hammer first, but I was just more impressed with Törr.

There's a cd of Hallows + Walking Dead that is a boot, though some suggest David Chandler was involved in pressing these up (not that his involvment automatically makes it a legit pressing). You're right about the mp3 age.... I wonder if, in this era of having easy access to so much music, some old...

I think "Hallows..." has never been printed on CD, at least officially. But in these mp3s days that's no excuse.
