Re: ATLANTEAN KODEX Course of Empires

I've finally come around to listen to it. It feels kinda weird to brush off a record sounding like a mix of Bathory and Manowar, but I found it rather bland. The style is great, but the songs themselves are just... lacking. Unsure of what they're lacking at the moment. It might just be due to the mo...

Re: ATLANTEAN KODEX Course of Empires

I don't recall there were many fans here even in the forum's heyday. Atlantean Kodex is a "new" band and people just don't care. But aye, awe inspiring album. Release of the year for sure and, for me, the best metal album since Procession's "To Reap Heavens Apart" in 2013. Strange then, that it did...

Thank you! I'll be sure to get 'em both.

If I remember correctly, RAW DEAL was probably the first NWOBHM 7'' single I ever bought.

Re: Your TOP 5 unsigned/"7inch only" NWOBHM bands who had potential to release a "classic" album

I can think of a few that I'd love to see get comped:

Y DIAWLED
PALI GAP
CHARGER
ORE
REINCARNATE
LAUTREC
TORTURE
VALHALLA
SHYWOLF
TRACER
PROWLER (both the "Forgotten Angel" band and the band who released the GODLY "Metal Fatigue" song)
RAW DEAL

But I have no idea if other recordings even exist.

I'm in a resurrecting mood this week!

When is High Roller (or anyone) going to release a DAWNWATCHER compilation LP?

Re: ARC - War Of The Ring EP lyrix

Engage thread necromancy: Listening to the original version of "War Of The Ring", on the "Raiders of the Lost ARC" compilation, the original chorus was indeed One Ring to rule them all One Ring to find them One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them Perhaps they changed it for fear of ...

Cannot speak for the CMC edition since I could not get any copies but the the High Roller edition is amazing. The demo songs of Crucifixion are simply awesome and the sound quality is really great.
This. The ”After The Fox” comp is A W E S O M E.

this is what an ebay seller needs: two collectors with money bidding against each other...

Nightsblood just wrote a review of Paradise Lost. I think I agree with every single word.
I don't, because the review says "absence of Flint and Jim in the string section". Jim is playing on the album. Jerry, however, isn't. I'm sure this is just a typo though.

Damage (FI) - Immortal Death has plenty of hardcore influences, despite most often being labelled as speed/thrash.

Great news of course, but where is Denner? Last time I spoke to him at his shop in Copenhagen he said that while MF is totally King's band, he was ready to play if King wanted him to.

Re: Comparing the 2 CRUCIFIXION Anthologies

No clue. At first I thought that CMC did the CD version and HR the vinyl version, but now I see that HR also has a CD coming out. I've preordered the HR vinyl copy but as it won't be released until late August, it'll take a while before I can let you know what it sounds like.
