Re: Bathory - Yellow goat LP

Hey humus,

I know a Swede who had it for sale some time ago, so if you want to I can check with him. (no idea how much he wanted for it, but I think he had some kind of verification of authenticity).

Very much enjoyed the Ancient Seance-tracks as well. Good pick!

Re: Question of rarity: MEPHISTO s/t

Alright, guess I'll have to dig deeper. Thanks for the info. If anyone has a copy to spare... I went to a fair in Gothenburg yesterday and asked around but no-one seemed to remember seeing it as of lately. Maybe it's not as common in Scandinavia as on the continent. Can't remember it being that rare...

FINAL PROPHECY (ger)

My apologies for spamming the forum the last couple of days, but here's a demo recording that is nearly impossible to find any proper information on: Germany's FINAL PROPHECY - Beyond Reality. Allegedly recorded in 1988 and never heard or seen of ever after, this is some excellent teutonic power met...

Question of rarity: MEPHISTO s/t

Been looking for MEPHISTO(ger) - self titled debut album for years but never come across a single copy (excluding the odd one at online vendors such as discogs). Was this one pressed in very limited run or have I just been out of luck?

Better than most recent stuff, but what's with the second rate LORDIAN GUARD-vocals?

Re: Bands/albums similar to ADRAMELCH's "Irae Melanox"?

I'm surprised to hear GEHENNA compared to the godly ADRAMELCH, since the GEHENNA lp plain sucks. Owned it and got rid of it damned quick. I've heard many people write it off based on different things. The pop-iness - especially in the first song, the weird production, weak vocals etc. To each their...

I forgot another obvious pick: Dark Quarterer (the first two albums).
Good suggestions, those are excellent albums and also in the progressive rock-influenced vein. Guess I need to revise my first comment!

Will check out Arrakis as well, thanks.

There's a new band from Chicago called Ancient Seance that remind me of "Irae Melanox" a little bit.

Thanks mate, will definitely check them out.

I'm not interested in buying a CDR (I already have one I made myself), but I would buy an official CD reissue immediately.
Couldn't agree more in principle. However, the mentioned of a second version of the album + an EP of extra material did spark my interest.

Re: SIGN OF THE HAMMER or HAIL TO ENGLAND

Impossible to choose. If forced to compare the two, it could be noted that "Hail to England" possesses a darker/evil aura (Each dawn..., Bridge of Death) while "Sign..." would be a more epic/mystic experience (Mountains and Guyana).

My two cents...

Re: Bands/albums similar to ADRAMELCH's "Irae Melanox"?

Wow, that's interesting because I was thinking of mentioning the GEHENNA-album along with FATES WARNING. Very unique album that deserves more credit. Apparently "En Busca..." was re-relased some time ago, so maybe things will pick up a little...

Thanks for the replies!

Bands/albums similar to ADRAMELCH's "Irae Melanox"?

Now, this might've been covered earlier but since I'm new here I'll blame it on ignorance: ADRAMELCH's "Irae Melanox" is a very special album in my opinion. Except for Arch-era FATES WARNING (which might well have been an influence on the Italians) I've still to come across anything remotely similar...
