Re: Anti-communist metal (1980s)

I've heard that this obscure Russian/Soviet thrash had "harsh, anticommunistic lyrics", but if course it's hard to tell.

Re: The Metal Compilopedia – Now a database!

https://www.discogs.com/Various-Visions-From-The-Hungarian-Darkside/release/7924024 This looks rather interesting. For example Detonator's song "Örökség" appears on their 1986 demo, but considering this one is from 1990 could be a rerecording? The Fantom track "Fekete Mágia" is also not present on a...

Re: The Corroseum bands

Anyway let me know what do you think, I'm really curious. Hi Maxim, i've only listened to the 1st track so far & only twice, but my initial impression was pretty positive overall. The guitarwork has a definite 70s, (no bad thing in in my book), and your tone & choice of effects remind me a little o...

Re: The Corroseum bands

I think it's time to resurrect tho thread a bit... So here's the "band" (consisting only me on guitars and a drummer at that moment) I play in. We've recorded a couple of instrumental tracks so far and struggling to find additional members (singer and bass player). Anyway if anyone gives a damn I'd ...

Böhse Onkelz, Kahlkopf, though initially coming from punk/oi/RAC scene also had some metal albums in 80s.

They weren't nationalistic during 80s though.

Great compilation, thanks! That Ippolit Matvejevics song almost sounds like some modern days black metal :)

Well, I am not that much into hardcore myself (esp. Japanese one) but I will check them out of curiousity.

Re: Rare Videos/Clips

Don't know if it was posted earlier

Óceán from Hungary - gig from 1979 (audio only) - probably most metal stuff you may find in 70s Eastern Europe:

Prisoner - pre-Brocas Helm band from late 70s. Taken from some TV-show

Re: Closest to '76-'78 Priest you may get???

"few" would indicate more than one, so quoted for untruth since only "Last Rose Of The Summer" could be considered weak (...though personally I still love it for the ambiance and giving the album some light & shade) Well, I'd say Raw Deal also weaker than the rest of the LP- The ending part is grea...

Re: Closest to '76-'78 Priest you may get???

xjQe6Qx0E0g This here should be stuff, Maxim is looking for. Most of the songs on the album sound like stuff from the "Sad Wings" Era. METAL!!!! Wow, that's pretty great. Sounds to me closer to Mercyful Fate however, but still closest of all three bands which were posted here (Lazer sounded more li...

Re: Closest to '76-'78 Priest you may get???

Deeply disagree. Nowadays is trendy to like that 70's thing and to dig all those obscurities of Psych/Prog/Hard. Well, I never really liked bands which certainly fall into these categories, so that what I love about early Priest albums - there is certainly clear prog/hard influence, but at the same...

Re: Closest to '76-'78 Priest you may get???

For me their best is still the Killing Machine album. Even better than the ones you refered as there's not that 70's feeling anymore. It's 100% made of Steel and 1 of the biggest references for the 80's. Closest you can get is this early texas metal 7'' (1979) : DW5zpBQ3Rus Well, starting from Kill...
