Re: Who's Cranking the New CIRITH UNGOL Today?
Is it just me, or does the album sound quite bad on vinyl? It’s very muddy and lacks clarity and punch. I suspect Metal Blade just put the CD master on vinyl. Certainly no “mastered FOR VINYL by Patrick Engel at Temple of Disharmony” declaration on this release. I redeemed my download code and indee...

Re: ATLANTEAN KODEX Course of Empires
I don't recall there were many fans here even in the forum's heyday. Atlantean Kodex is a "new" band and people just don't care. But aye, awe inspiring album. Release of the year for sure and, for me, the best metal album since Procession's "To Reap Heavens Apart" in 2013. Stran...

There are, like the Katedra debut (Lithuania) and the Asparez LP (Armenia).Zombie Dance wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2019 12:23 pm Thanks! I guess Melodya did some records only locally distributed, I wonder if there are more out there like that...

I'm sure this will be a great show and very fulfilling to many, but I feel I just can't buy into this if it's without Michael Denner.

Re: The Track 5 Theory
I resent the notion that this template is ideal for all sub genres! Pacing, headbanging value, catchiness etc is important in power metal. You need some variation in tempo to get the most out of the speediest number, but you never want an album to drag so the sequencing is important and this is as c...

All copies are like that.

Re: The Track 5 Theory
This is truth. All the Rhapsody albums from the classic 1997-2002 period follow this pattern. Instrumental intro, then fast and/or very anthemic opener, another track that sticks like glue to the opener but is slightly slower, a token folkish song, and then unleash a million toy swords for serious d...

Re: Bootleg warning thread LP (2019)
I bought this from a Russian seller five or six years ago. Same with the first Tourniquet and possibly some other Intense Records vinyl. I used to see them offered in Russia a lot more often than other countries. I don't know, but my theory has always been this. Vinyl was more or less dead in the US...

Re: Story behind the band CROM(esp)?
I don't know precisely how credible the info is, but the great metal blog Ride Into Glory recently made a guide to Spanish 80's heavy metal, which contained some interesting bits about Crom and their place in the Spanish scene as one of few English speaking bands. https://rideintoglory.com/el-volume...

Re: Keep It True 2019 roll call
I’m not a great fan, so I might be missing something, but why would it be such a dilemma to find a singer for a Legend show? Last time I heard the album, the vocal wasn’t anything terribly unique.

Re: Arc - Raiders of the Lost Arc
I’m quite sick of rehearsal recordings being released and sold like they were real records. Arc also has yet to convince me they wrote more than one song worth hearing.

Re: Keep It True 2019 roll call
Just logging in to announce my appearance. Like my companion Dan, in many ways I feel KIT has become even more important as I’ve got older. It’s the ultimate dad’s trip, where I can pretend like my steel is actually true and I can obtain heaps of records with money my family doesn’t need. I’ve learn...
