There surely are a lot of great NWOBHM 7"s, but also many lame overrated ones. Often they turn out to be quite lame pub rock or some bluesy 70's stuff, or Hawkwind-jibberish. Many of my favourite singles from the era turn out to be those of the bands that later scored LP's, such as Satan, Blitzkrieg...

Are you talking about some very special pressings of these CD's or what? Cause many of them can be found in regular online metal stores for next nothing. I got Coroner, Artillery, Hallows Eve, Sodom, Coroner etc and I don't think I payed any more than 8-9 euros a piece for them, brand new. Ok here a...

There is no such Running Wild EP officially released. Are you sure it wasn't the "Heavy Metal Like a Hammerblow" bootleg?

As for new but old school doom bands I would tell you about REVEREND BIZARRE and THE GATES OF SLUMBER. RB take the slow extremity of Saint Vitus and adds some of the epic atmosphere of Candlemass. Their debut "In the Rectory of the BIzarre Reverend" of 2001 is actually so fucking slow., heavy and do...

I remembered some years ago when i bought Halloween-Don't Metal With Evil on CD,this first CD was like Alice Cooper,Kiss a mix heavy and glam but with no sucess to my mind.I founded them a typical AVERAGE band with no real inspiration. We can't say Halloween was a great band and ignoring thousands o...

The show at KIT a few years ago was great. Had a blast, but for some reason I never became a total fan of the "Don't Metal With Evil" album. I heard a tad too much American HR mixed into their Metal and very few of the songs stuck in my head. I still have to check out the later stuff, so I'll postp...

HALLOWEEN - fear (?) the return

Last week I kind of rediscovered one of my first true loves of ancient-forgotten-80's-metal, Detroit's Halloween. This band holds so much memories and special meanings to me, I again realized I totally love all their three albums. I can't decide which is the best, the energetic and enthusiastic debu...

JAG PANZER - ample destruction (Finally I got the original for a decent price! "Under the knife!...") MARTYR - darkness at times edge (Excellent! Gotta find the MLP now. Anyone up for a quick trade?) HOCCULTA - back in the dark (Good shit. Better than the older lp I heard ages ago + with a heavy An...

Would you trade that POKOLGEP 7" for a rare Swedish one, should I come up w/ something interesting?
I would probably trade it for SCRATCH or SACRIFICE, but aside of that, I would hold on to it. As I said, it was one of only a handful of foreign singles I really wanted.

Absolutely, sounds like something I got to hear. I got a box full of demos and assorted recordings on cdr, mostly swedish 80's stuff. Should we exchange trade lists?

I just snatched a mint copy of the Pokolgép 7" on eBat. 50 dollars, but it's a darn cool single. One of the few foreign ones I really needed.
