Re: Eat Metal Records new LP issues out 06th March 2015 info request

I've got to answer this one now. It is correct that Eat Metal have some times been (very) late shipping stuff people have ordered from them, but I have ordered from them a dozen times and NEVER experienced not getting my stuff. It may take some time, but in my experience the records will arrive.

Re: MOBILE VULGUS - Painted In Blood 7" EP '83

The vocals kill this for me. Would have loved if this was any good since they are Norwegians, but no such luck. Thanks for the upload anyway, DaN.

Re: PROWLER (USA) LP 1984/85 - Fils Du Metal

I'm getting one at KIT. Have listened to it online and it sounds quite good. Some classic stuff; what we used to call "heavy rock" mixed with metal.

Re: Identify this band

I'm quite convinced that band is indeed Armistice. They had a session for Tommy Vance which was probably aired in late 1984. The producer for that session must've been the same (Tony Wilson) as for the Peel session (?)

Re: Song of the Day (2015)

I quite like that Cauldron Born track too, though I know some people think it sounds "flat" or "powerless" or "repetitive". Me, I can't really get tired of it.

Aha, that means I'm thinking of some other sampler. I'll try to figure out what it was

Would be nice if you can make the issue available at UTH. It's one of the only enjoyable metal reads these days.

It's really good stuff. Looking forward to their (very short) gig in Athens next week.

Re: The best of German Metal Newcomer 2LP, 1990

Thanks for sharing. What was the original cover like? I have a vague recollection of this, or perhaps some similar compilation of German bands, from around that time.

Athens record stores

I'm going to Up the Hammers for the first time next week, so which are the best record shops in Athens? Have in mind, I prefer metal, but 70s hard rock, prog and psych are also of interest. There should be a lot of collectors with experience here, so I'm expecting a few answers here

Re: The Complete* Encyclopedia Of FWOEHM Singles

I was searching for the FWOEHM article relatively recently, so there's one reason it's great to see the Corroseum up and working again. I'll have to do some (illegal) copying of your material there DaN, please tell me if you mind. Just have to make sure I can refer to it when required

Re: SOLAR EAGLE

In other news, the vinyl issue of Solar Eagle sounds quite good and has better general sound quality than the CD. The sound quality of the latter is not critically bad though, just lacking.
