I can try to copy my single to mp3. I would say it's about the same as the comp track in terms of song quality, with a slightly lighter production.

Well, at least we rounded out the disco with possibly maybe also a demotape. Someone has gotta know...

Last concert I went to was SLAYER & MEGADETH, a few days ago. It was OK, I guess. I got too drunk... :D I was a little disappointed with all the 70's era songs but cannot really complain as I never thought in my life I would see him play live Sounds like the kind of setlist I'd die to see

Inspire (Japan)

I've been playing their 7" again recently. Does anybody else like this band? Did they record anything other than the "Doctor" 7" and compilation track for the "Metal Warning" DLP? The vocals are very...um... "Japanese heavy metal", which is unfortunate  ....

I think it's that Saxon never strived to be exceptional themselves, even. They were content writing some - sometimes killer - material but they didn't seem interested in infusing it with Heavy Metal Extremity. True. However, at a certain point - in the very early 80s - they were pushing the envelop...

I sometimes think MANILLA ROAD's "Return Of The Old Ones" has a very haunting, eerie feeling, especially at the end. It's like his fury (during the song) has gone, and only his resignation and feelings of defeat are left. Very otherworldly sound! And to end the thread: Black Sabbath - Blac...

Re: Favourite Thin Lizzy covers

I want to make a little compilation for myself, please suggest and refresh my memory. So far... Just curious was to what sparked this... Wanting to listen to Thin Lizzy is one of the most understandable desires of a red-blooded human male, but making a personal covers compilation shows arcane think...

Was DOOM ever issued out on this series? Some people say it was canceled.

I have the original EXPLOSION CD version, but the sound on that sucks and I want to get a reissue. :x

Focus - Hocus Pocus and Blitzkrieg - Blitzkrieg One of the riffs is practically identical. I saw in an interview one of the old members say that Blitzkrieg song was born out of a rehearsal where they were playing "Hocus Pocus", but couldn't get the opening riff correct. So they ended up w...

Reincarnate (UK)

This is a brilliant band!

Do ye heavy metal sages of the forum know if this cult ever released anything beyond the single?

For me if a band has a lot of riffs the majority of which are not chromatic or two-note riffs, while this doesn't make them super melodic by default, they cannot be accused that they lack melody. This is the distinction between early say, Sodom and Varvar. They're both savage, but Varvar have the m...

This album may or may not be amazing but the amount of melody it has is really questionable. And clearly relative. I mean if you're a fan of grindcore then probably it has not only TONS but MEGATONS of melody. On the other hand, if you usually listen to classic heavy metal and the more melodious ba...

Well we should ask these people that consider MOP worthless if they like any other albums by Metallica. And why does metallica get the kneejerk reaction? Because they're the absolutely biggest metal band in the world, everybody knows them, and this is hard to swallow for 80's purists. No other band...

As much as I love BS they will never be a doom band. Black Sabbath are Black Sabbath. They created the whole thing, influenced almost everybody and are hugely responsible for how HM turned to be. But they are not a doom metal band. Black Sabbath were the original HM band, you can say that. But Doom...
