Re: Female Fronted Heavy Metal, 1976 - 1989 compilation

the oldest band on the comp is dead end 5 who weren't 100% a metal band, but had some really heavy tracks. their albums are pretty cool, they do some finnish language covers of blue oyster cult, ramones, zz top shakin' street might be a better contender, although a lot of their stuff leans towards h...

Re: Overlooked evil demo from the 80ies?

some stuff not yet mentioned: astaroth (pol) - kind of kat's 666 musically but with wild reverbed out vocals tyfoon (bel) - fast death/thrash like sadus necromancer (bra) - blackish metal with long, drawn out midtempo songs that are rather atypical from the sort of stuff you find in late 80s brazil....

Re: Emerald(NL)

been digging deeper into dutch steel and came across this warrior demo the band later turned into emerald and this track is on the LP - i'm just wondering if this is really from 1976?? it sounds way too advanced for that time and the other demo they have listed on M-A ...

yeah i have that 7" - it kinda sucks tbh - barely metal, lots of keys. i put the better of the two songs on disc 12, if you're really curious about the flip i can rip it i'll probably do an update over the next couple weeks on the stuff that has trickled in - not too much, the most wanted title...

the force demo with "black widow" on it has a different singer than the force 12"... iirc a good chunk of this lineup was also different than the 12", and at some time shortly after recording that demo they changed their name to chained lace and recorded "morbid fascination&...

Vacant Grave seems like an interesting band. I'm gonna try to check them out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZslbTlqkbU&feature=related this is killer... all the vacant grave demos i've heard must have been sourced from a 666th generation cassette as it was difficult to discern anything. maybe...

Re: Rose (Japan)

Rose (Jap) - Rose 12", 1988. Value uncertain, "Rose" too generic of a name to input into CF/Popsike. Possibly the same band as Artemis? (see above) Here you are: Rose - Get It Down http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zf_I99zB5Es Rose - Speed King http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTyJMU_jEcU...

absolutely - the 10th year anniversary releases "black up your soul" and "for satan and sacrifice" are excellent as well, as they re-record many of the early 7" and demo tracks with a sound more in line with the first four full lengths. also has a few nice covers and other o...

i never got the ferat either - they confirmed they received my payment and said they shipped it out. hope they aren't ripoffs.... the lochness track from the death metal session lp - taken from the demo, is on here, as is the lisa baker 7" (saw it pop up on ebay recently - another mediocre reco...
