Re: GOOD YouTube channels?
Yeah, that cable TV thing was just something that popped into my head as we were talking. I was born in '78, so obviously I wasn't around when NWOBHM was the big thing. But as I recall from the mid 80's, Sweden was more influenced by the UK before cable, and far more by the US once cable started to ...

Re: Same Riff??? (Riff-Off)
Just realised that Danzig's 'Snakes Of Christ' was (ahem) 'inspired' by The Dictators' 'Minnesota Strip'. Contrast & compare... Yep, total riff-off! Here's another one I discovered today while listening to some random playlist at the gym. "Evil Face" by PANDEMONIUM is rather similar t...

You give me far too much credit, I'm mostly good at using Google.bigfootkit wrote: ↑Wed Jun 04, 2025 2:19 pm Damn, you're good Khnud.
I only wish there was an album's worth of recordings from that era of the band, i love their early sound with that upfront clangy bass.

"Protectors" is by AXE MINISTER. Really tough one to spot, as it doesn't appear on any official release. Great song though, obviously they started out as huge IRON MAIDEN fans.

Re: Lesser know 80's Doom...
Strikes me quite strongly this morning that Glamour Girl by Excess really fits this bill. Plus it has a pleasingly exotic/Egyptian sounding solo... Great track from a great album. The song is similar to "Rainbow In The Night" by Vanexa, which might fit this topic too (especially the choru...

Re: 'Unintentional Metal' / 'Metal-by-mistake'
Cheers! Yes - exactly this one. Looking at the Discogs-slot and especially the comments below, I'm guessing it was perhaps John who introduced it to us? Seems it actually wasn't released in the 70's after all, so I guess this removes some of the Magic from it. Yeah, confess: We're all silly nerds w...

Re: 'Unintentional Metal' / 'Metal-by-mistake'
1. A US Hard Rock private album from the late 70's (or possibly 1980?), b/w sleeve, band name was basically the artist's name I think... ONE track was however pure "Stained Class"-type True NWOBHM-style Metal! Joe Step? Dan Jefferies Century? They were Canadian but fit the description per...
