Re: Cirith Ungol returns!

Kinda strange how Night Demon is booked on every single show Cirith Ungol plays now...must be a coincidence. One of the requirements for booking Cirith Ungol is also booking Night Demon. Simple as that. What I don't get is the habit of traveling all over the world to see the same three bands, when ...

Re: Official Heavy Load reissues on No Remorse

Hey man, you are talking to a man that was raised on dubbed tapes and demos, so the "perfect sound quality" was never the question. :D If i was really into this kind of perfectonism, I would probably have been listening to jazz or classical music instead, because heavy metal by definition...

Re: Official Heavy Load reissues on No Remorse

Me, on the other hand, I always pick the edition which includes the bigger number of tracks. I will always prefer an unreleased bonus-packed (and cheaper!!!!) reissue to the original first edition CD or even a prior reissue with with poorer content. The only reissues that really turned me off due t...

Re: Official Heavy Load reissues on No Remorse

I would prefer to get the Japanese reissues of Heavy Load's albums, because a lot of Western labels put out very low-quality stuff, and I can't look at most reissues the same way these days. For example, that Glacier CD has really poor print quality, but at least it wasn't too expensive.

Re: Heavy load/glacier/witch cross type reccomendations

I said that I've been getting into heavy/power metal bands that flirt with neoclassical/shred metal, and not just playing that genre itself. It's not like I came in to say to listen to Cacophony or Yngwie J. Malmsteen. I mentioned a couple of albums that I find pretty heavy, but also melodic. Japan ...

Re: Heavy load/glacier/witch cross type reccomendations

Those are all good bands, but I've heard them a billion times already. I've been getting more into Japanese neoclassical/shred metal, so if you want something a tad more melodic, albeit as heavy, then I'd recommend checking out some of the stuff on Mandrake Root Records. My favorite release from Jap...

Re: Cirith Ungol returns!

I wish Greg Lindstrom would go back to bass, or at least get Flint back in the band. The Night Demon dude being in the band is just awkward to me.

Not sure how much I like it more or less than its predecessor. I'm just going to call it a bit of an unexpected s...

Re: Now Playing Thread (2015)

Yes both albums by Aftershok are great. Shok Paris were supposed to release a new album but nothing came out yet except a new song. They've been saying that for years. The song that they released is just OK. Hoping that they got better stuff down. Unfortunately, Vic Hix hasn't been sounding that gr...

Re: Now Playing Thread (2015)

It is not exactly a reissue, these are different sessions with heavier sound, different playing order and an extra track (plus a couple demos). I enjoy the original version too. I think it's the best of their 3 albums. I know that it's the original mix. I was commenting on it being released just la...
