Re: Cover variations / Different Covers (Vinyl only)

I only have the Rescue, but I agree it's better. It was funny I didn't know about this album, or at least not of the connection, until maybe seven years ago. I had long wanted the Palass, so I was elated to find out that Rescue was the same but better and much cheaper.

Re: Is Metal collecting still Fun?

Over 1000 owners = quite common in my book. Then you must consider Iron Maiden's "X Factor" and "Virtual XI" original pressings really common records too? So why have they cost in the three figures nearly since the turn of the millennium? There's just not nearly enough supply to...

Re: Is Metal collecting still Fun?

Another one I can't figure out is Rust In Peace by Megadeth. A quite common record, but original US pressings go for around 300€ nowadays. Insane. It’s just not nearly as common as you think. Around 1100 owners of the US pressing on Discogs, versus some 8000 owners of the various European pressings...

Re: Is Metal collecting still Fun?

Not as fun as it used to be, which is for several reasons. Discogs has many faults, one of which is the "suggested price" algorithm in work when one lists items for sale. It seems to operate on the assumption that every copy added must be more expensive than others recently sold, and I'm c...

Re: Albums That Disappointed You

Ashbury's "Endless Skies" is an excellent epic rock album. Basically, it sounds like a more straight forward Kansas, who I'd guess they were heavily influenced by. Hell, even the album cover looks like a DIY Kansas cover, and one of the guys who sings on the album is a dead ringer to Kansa...

Re: "Did I hear that right?!"

I just pulled out the lyric sheet again, and it's supposed to be "Evil Invaders! Death deception in the night!". There's no way he actually sings that. There aren't that many syllables there. It possibly might be "Incense..." though. :D

Re: "Did I hear that right?!"

In Razor ”Evil Invaders”, first line of chorus, I hear ”Evil invaders! Incest in the night!”.

I'm pretty much convinced that IS the actual lyric. Whatever it was the lyric sheet said, it didn’t fit at all.

Re: Lesser known 80's Doom...

This somewhat wonky but still fairly traditional 80's Doom Metal track by IRONWRATH (grrrreat band name!) appeared on the 2nd volume of xian label Regency Records "Underground Metal" comp: https://youtu.be/geKSdDLCQIE?si=pY7xCwD3WQia0Ow8 ...and I've always been curious about the 1989 demo...

Real shame to hear about 220V.... guess I'll see If I end up making it, going to at least wait to see what The Abyss fest does this year (I think it's 2 weeks before???) I saw them in Huskvarna in 2022, and the only pre 1985 song they played was Firefall. Then again, I have heard that "Prisone...

Seven of the bands on the bill I've even watched here in Jönköping in the last few years. Makes sense. Fun social event ...
