Flaming Anger

Lineup:

Michael Bresgott (guitar)
Alex Schönert (guitar)
Frank Wittge (bass, vocals)
Jens Küchenthal (drums)

Band-info:

These prog-Thrash underground darlings were formed in 1984 as they mentioned during mid 80’s interviews, they though claimed to be founded in early 1986 in Dortmund at around 1990, when spreading their info sheets to the underground magazines. Shortly later the band relocated to Bochum. During those early years (1985/86) the lads also recorded a first self titled Demo tape, a fairly straight-forward Thrash-affair, that though according to the band wasn’t ever released officially. In 1987 Flaming Anger would contribute the songs "Tantalus" and "Lunatics revenge" for the complation tape "Skullthrasher - A Second Blast!" and recorded their first official "Fall of Pnom Penh" cassette from 1988, that the band started receiving some attention and favourable reviews. Well, apart from some taking note that the vocals occasionally go a little 'crazy' (to put it politely). It was recorded in the familiar D&S Recordings studio and musically F.A's closest cousins would be Mekong Delta and later Deathrow (there's no coincidence that they even used to cover the former live back in the days). There's mention of them about to get signed on the then brand-new Century Media label around this time, but the deal fell through, whenalso their debut LP already got announced for June '89. Consequences of this caused the split of the band in April 1990, but rather in early 1991 Frank Witte (bass vocals) emerged with an entirely new line-up, with Volker Rummel and Frederick Tönnesmann on guitars and one Elmar on drums. The "Humaniced" Demo was the result, recorded in August '91, and I'd say it was an improvement, but Elmar due to his change in musicial interests already left Flaming Anger afterwards. After that it took them until 1996 to get another promo tape out and the year after their one and only album, "Biospheres II" was released. The rest is silence..
