WILCZY PAJĄK - Próg Świadomości Solid but anonymous tech-thrash. A re-recorded version later appeared as a CD bonus track on the 2009 edition of the WOLF SPIDER "Drifting In The Sullen Sea" album, however this take you still won't find anywhere else but here.
WILCZY PAJĄK - Thrashers Their more 'tallicaesque number is also the more enjoyable of their 2 featured tracks. While a live version of the song is featured on the "Metalmania 88" comp LP, this rare studio version didn't reappear in the limelight until the 2009 CD reissue of their s/t album debut included it as a bonus track.
STOS - Sabat A great catchy tune where the bonus of fem vox makes me think of a more melodic Znöwhite or Xandril. This very same song (and recording) got renamed to "Czarne Święto" on their debut LP.
STOS - Czas Wilka Continuing with the fem-fronted comparisons, this come off as an excellent mix of Malteze and Hellion. While appearing live on the "Jarocin '88" 3LP one year later, it is in fact a completely different tune from the dull mid-pace thrasher "Czas Wilka" that appeared on their s/t debut in '89. To further confuse matters, the version featured here appeared on the 2008 CD reissue of the debut, but there renamed to "Nocne Mary".
Tracklist side B:
DRAGON - Demony Wojny Sounds like a satanic Death Metal band caught in the body of a Thrash band - that particular band being UK Sabbat - when Sabbat sounded extra much like Hell! So yeah, a fantastically EVIL tune and perhaps my fave song by the band. Never reissued or re-recorded.
DRAGON - Siedem Czasz Gniewu Another killer mix all things great that everyone loves, i.e. Celtic Frost, Pentagram (Chile), Voivod etc... Demo recording different (and superior) to the "Horda Goga" version (incidently still a pretty underrated album..)
DESTROYER - Bastiony Śmierci Some serious King Diamond-worship going on here. In a great, original & 'eastern' way I might add. Featured as bonus track on the 2009 CD reissue of "A Night Of The Lusty Queen".
DESTROYER - Młot Na Świętą Inkwizycję A more epic number in the Maiden/Virgin Steele vein while still utilizing those King D.-type vocals. A live version was featured on their "Metalmania '87" split-LP with HAMMER from the same year, while this studio version appeared on the abovementioned CD.
