Let's first list the coolness-markers: kulty b/w sleeve, first Metal album of the country, d.i.y. private pressing, 1983 = OLDE, cool band names & titles, "SEITE 1" and "SEITE 2" and probably a few more I've missed ...so, obviously the only logical explaination as to why everyone and his ghost isn't topping their want-lists with this baby is that it's pure trash. Yeah, I can see why practically every opinion (from the precious few who've claimed to have heard it) has been, shall we say, less enthusiastic. I've frankly never heard a more bootleg-sounding recording on a non-boot live LP before, but if anything it at least gives the album a certain tape-trading-nostalgia vibe and it certainly has its moments, glimmering in the mud after abouts the 3rd replay. To some aging kiwi metalheads out there, this might be the only record of their greatest evening of their youth... |
