"If it's heavy, it makes you happy! If it's Neat, Keep it NEAT!"

Truer words were never spoken. It's hard to overestimate the importance of Newcastle's Neat Records as far as the development of Heavy Metal is concerned. So what if about every 2nd release they ever put out was a custom shaped VENOM picture EP - you gotta love this label simply because they stuck their neck out and produced some of the most violent, ravaging music of its time. I'm sure there's plenty of articles out there dealing with the history of the label, so I'm skipping that part for the moment, as well as the later "Neat Metal"-edition of the label. For a more detail account on all the different VENOM-editions The Corroseum recommends the discography at www.venom.nu.

The singles and EPs start right below, the albums start here. For completist sake I've also added the 2 singles released on Neat's short-lived Metal Minded subsidiary here.

The 12"-exclusive "Run Them Down" is Raven at their craziest finest, while hearing "Rock Hard" made me realize how they're also a kind of speeded up & Metalized AC/DC - not only because of the vocals and song titles mind you.
