Black Angels(Nor)

Post by Fucking Åmål »

I don't know why this band is so underrated?I Have the single(i can upload it if anyone needs it) and it is totally amazing.Raw Heavy Metal reminding of some German Bands of the mid-80's.Destroy is a crushing hymn a soundtrack to smash everything. And Wild 'N' Hot is a powerful dynamit.Fuck i really need them.I've read they have released also a demo in 84 and the EP which i don't have.Any more about this band?noone seems involved with other bands. The review of Metalpage in this is fucking true.Do you like also this band like i do?

"Wild & Hot" doesn't do anything for me, but "Destroy" is a great, very solid piece of classic Heavy Metal. Don't know much about the band, but neither the 7" nor the MLP seem to be that rare or hard to get. I haven't seen the MLP for a while though and could sure use a copy. Knut to the rescue?

Who's heard the MLP btw? Is it as good as the single?

I have never owned any of the Black Angels stuff, but if you go to this forum: http://www.screammagazine.com/modules.php?name=Forums and ask for it there, I know there are people on there who knew the guys in the band. Maybe you could even find copies for sale?

Edit: I found this thread on that site for those who can read Norwegian:

And one of my work colleagues was in the same class in school as one of the guys. I just showed her the picture since they were from the town where I live now.

I don't know the 7", but the EP is not so great.
A mix between German Metal ( no sign of quality IMO) and a bit scandinavian Melodic Metal. The production is rough, so the guitarsound comes quite heavy and good, but the singer sounds bad.
The first song starts with a Ohohoho from the leadsinger and the others are responding also with ohohoho ! Sounds like a concert in front of 3 people !
Also there are no real Songstructures, nothing to catch your attention.

It was much better when Slade did it on "We'll Bring the House Down".
