Lars can't play the drums anymore, and Hetfield doesn't have the voice anymore. Seen them around in 2005, and left after a couple of (old) songs, because they sounded nothing like they used to.
Such a shame what Metallica turned into. They were such an important band for me growing up. I guess releasing an album that goes stratospheric and you get piles of $$$ coming in will change anyone's outlook. It cetainly turned Lars into a twat...

I strongly doubt that Lars Ulrich was a good drummer once, even in 1985, he couldn't play "For whom the Bell Tolls" drums part properly ....

He was never the best drummer, that's true. Let's say he was 'solid' at best.

Saw Morbid Saint last weekend at a bar with maybe 40-50,people tops. Someone pushed me up on stage and I rambled off some drunken banter. Hell of a show, I remember everyone screaming for Lock Up Your Children but I was up front yelling Crying for Death!!!! And Pat was like 'sorry we don't play that one anymore'. They finally did though and it fucking wrecked my neck. God damn they've still got it. Played (almost?) every song from Spectrum, some Destruction System stuff and a couple new ones.

I don't get to many shows due to location but this was probably the best I've ever been to despite the 3 opening bands sucking. What a fucking blast. Got a pretty cool shirt too.

No it has the front print from the 'Leaders' shirt on their website but a different back print (I saw morbid fucking saint live). Kinda cheesy but unique not something just anyone can buy I guess. I'm not a fan of back prints in general though.

Are there any cool shows, beside Muskelrock, in Europe between May 24 and June 6? I need to stock up on good concert memories. :)

Did you go in the end? Didn't spot you there.
Saw some good shows, especially Pentagram! They played right after Pestilence and the contrast was enormous. Pestilence know how to play their instruments but they do it with ZERO feeling.

Next up: Worship/Loss.
