Exodus - Bonded by Blood

Post by wom »

Ok, i have seen at least two Combat versions of this one.

Pictures have been posted here i think where matrix reads 88561-8019-2 MT 1A1 ++

But, from a current ebay auction ...is this legit? (Matrix reads 8561-8019-2 and that ++ sign)

Here's the scan of mine it that helps you. The matrix has the '+' sign but only 1, not two. I compared the matrix to my Darkness Descends CD and it's the same, that one has a single '+' too.

mine sounds like the Ebay one, I bought it in 1987 or so, definitely not a bootleg.

full matrix is: "88561-8019-2 *cross thing here*" with no additional markings in the matrix

Did you check if your "MT 1A1 ++" version is maybe the US press, not Japanese?

It says "Made In Japan" at the bottom of the disc.

And I believe that the "US press" came later on.

Very few CD's pre-1986 were manufactured outside of Japan and Germany.

Not only BBB, Darkness Descends and Killing is My Business too for example were originally made in Japan for US market, and the versions made in the USA followed some time after that.

I have exactly the same, also with one '+'.

I think it is the first pressing. Bought it in a old collection thrash metal CD's.

I don't take photos of my CDs, I scan them :D
It doesn't really matter where is the matrix, each CD has it on a different position ...

Here's one example:

It's not. I've owned both US and Japan pressings, the US copy is your typical late 80s Nimbus release, with the same matrix and slightly tacky lacquer layer on the label side (you know, the kind it's impossible to get fingerprints off of, annoying as hell). I think my Japanese had two plus signs, perhaps these designate 1st and 2nd pressings? Just a guess. But anyways the US pressing is definitely legit, probably from 87-88 before they changed the cover.

There was also another US press on Combat with exactly the same barcode as the one with the red cover, but with original one, from 1989.

And this is the original US press, yeah I also assume that it must be from cca 87-88:

One thing - when were Megadeth forced to ban These Boots off their debut album? Because my version was made in the US, but it still comes with 8 tracks (and I also owned the US Combat press w/ 7 tracks).
