REENCARNACION

Post by The Sentinel »

REENCARNACION from Colombia. I only know their name. I'm interested in their "888 metal" album (rereleased). How does it sound like? Apparently they play death/black. Is it something like Parabellum, Sarcofago or Pentagram (Chile) or something else? Help me out :D

It is similar to those bands, but more deranged in terms of song structure (perhaps not as insane as Parabellum in that respect, however) and atmosphere. There are even some great parts with usage of a violin. Personally, I think Reencarnacion make 'INRI' sound like it was written by a bunch of schoolgirls.
I absolutely worship the album, but I'm sure that fact is not of help to you.

its an album that must be heard to be believed. the entire album sounds musically "wrong". i'm not really sure what else to compare it to

the only ressemblance I found in their music was hints of Sodom - Obsessed By Cruelty, but even there it doesnt sound like that at all (maybe the vocals... errr)
anyway that's an awesome record for sure... especially in the last songs, they are really great pieces of obscure "extreme" metal
the way they build up awesome songs in very abstract and strange (or "wrong" like khiijol said) structures is something unique to the album

Well this band is somehow charming, but I would never recommend it to anyone. I think their 7"ep is better. i think it was included as bonus on the cd version

Can't wait to listen to it, is it perhaps something like Hadez from Peru? That's also a weird one.

Yeah I heard Hellhammer and Sodom but more fucked up. Add violin to some tracks and you can guess the rest. Some of the best metal from South America IMO.
