Sorry to hear about your misfortune with the Jester 45, hopefully you got your money refunded at least? It's a good little record that rarely gets mentioned, perhaps because the other song has a more overtly commercial bent. Personally i enjoy both sides, the songwriting, arrangements, playing & production are all of a very high standard which isn't usually the case when it comes to early 80's indie HR/HM 45s.

Ah yes of course, it's JESTER from Canada. The song is "Find Out". A 45 that's eluded me so far. I seem to remember purchasing a copy many years ago but it never arrived. :(
Don't feel too bad, that one has been a thorn in my side for longer than I care to remember.
At one time I might have figured that one out but those days seem mostly to be in the past.

Oh, that's CAIN - Born Of The Wind
I listened to the record once, but compared experiences returned no reflection to be recognized. No way.

'Born Of The Wind' is a great little song from a not-always-convincing LP, i can see why it might not 'stick' after just one listen. Their 2nd album 'Stinger' is probably more consistent & focussed than 'A Pound Of Flesh', but 'Born Of The Wind' may still be the best stand-alone track they did.
Cain reunited in 2011 for a few shows & still sounded pretty good despite the passing of time. The singer in particular has kept his chops up well.:

Is it time for me to reveal the remaining tracks yet?

Track # 08 is Rock'n'Roll is Still the King by BOOGIE HAMMER

from Austria above all things.

This one begs a short interview.

1. How did you find it?
2. Do you actually like it?
3. Why did you choose exactly this track for this episode?

I must admit, this episode makes me angry.

Every day I know less about everything. :(

Of course, most of us know the tune of the last track, but sadly not the title.

Feel free to go with full trackist, 'kit.

You sir, are entirely correct. Well sleuthed out.
1. Through forgetfulness, error & fate! :D
One night I was looking for the record label of (former?) forum member Rainer (aka 'Runningwild') on bandcamp, but i couldn't recall at that moment what it was called. As it specialises in Austrian Metal I put in a search for 'Austria' & 'heavy' (or something similar) & Boogie Hammer came up amongst the search results. The band name amused me so i gave them a listen. Pure chance.
2. I don't like it, i love it.
3. It's a fun kick arse song (and the title likely references the mighty Rose Tattoo).
When you say 'this episode makes me angry', do you mean you were frustrated that you didn't know more of the tracks, or was there something about the overall tone of the episode or individual song choices that angered you? :?

See next sentence of that post. Yes, I felt and am quite frustrated, I'm lacking the breadth that is needed for such challenges, and all the more so for the lack of time for listening, which is exacerbated by the fact that when I have time I don't know what to start with.

This episode may be the grandest and the weirdest so far. I doubt there will ever be RUJA(!?) and MAD DOG and ZODIAC KILLERS and ROSE TATTOO worshippers and SANTO AND JOHNNY set in the same slot. Could this be called retro-futurist? Or is it futuro-retrogardist (not "gradist", mind you)? It's avant-garde of sorts for sure.

I also like it for the fact it is even more international than usual.

Ah, "Every day I know less about everything"?
If you don't mind me saying so, you've phrased that as if it were a negative whereas i don't see it that way myself. In any field of exploration every discovery inevitably leads to further lines of inquiry. No one can ever know it all, there's always more knowledge to acquire.
If i can use a climbing analogy, none of us are destined to ever see the view from atop the peak, but there's much enjoyment to be had from reaching each fresh plateau & every new day is an opportunity to move nearer the next one.
Seems i sound quite 'zen' when i get metaphorical. That's far from my reality.
Glad you found this episode a bit weird, i'll take that as a compliment. It's most likely down to the running order rather than any real difference in stylistic content, and it was quite deliberate. I'd felt i'd started to work to a bit of a template, so it felt neccessary to shake things up a bit to keep it interesting & maybe even make things a little jarring at pontss. Hence Ruja's slow doomy appearance coming early on, & Derringer's lengthy epic also being at the front end of the episode etc.
Glad you enjoyed the Santo & Johnny track, i thought it made a nice contrast to have them play things out in such an understated & melodic way straight after Frank Marino's full throttle guitarmaggedon. Very different approaches to the 'axe', but ironically S & J probably cram just as many notes into their short laid-back epilogue as Frank crammed in over his 6 or 7 minutes of full-tilt attack.
No idea if we've moved into 'retro-futurist' territory, that's a bit 'high concept' for me & i'm just not that high-falootin'. I'm just trying to share some great overlooked tunes and hopefully present them in an interesting way that makes them easier to digest.
Shall we do it all again in June?

Apologies for sounding a bit whiney, but no worries, I am angered by myself and angry on myself alone.

To add to that, I was offered that Frank's tune, but didn't check it 'cos I thought, Ah, 'kit does not repeat himself, except for HELLACOPTERS and SUPERSUCKERS, so I didn't check it out. I should left no stone unturned, but I did.

Naturally,.

One question, though, could you upload at least vol. 2 and vol.3 on the MEGA? It's been a while since we could listened to those. Cheers in advance, of course.

This was actually the only time i've ever featured Frank Marino. Technically i've only had The Hellacopters in one episode too. I've featured Wayne Kramer (with The Hellacopters) & Scott Morgan (& The Hellacopters) too, but as 'The Hellacopters'? Just once. Yes, these are merely technical distinctions, but i stand by them.
I have repeated myself with the Supersuckers though, i hold my hands up to that yet i feel no shame.
I'll try & get episode 2 uploaded this week sometime & post it in poisonoise for anyone who might enjoy it.
