"He Is" was written as a tribute to Selim Lemouchi of The Devil's Blood, who committed suicide in 2014.

Always liked Ghost. Got to know them through this thread back in 2010. "Meliora" is my favourite. "Prequelle" is a bit of a letdown, although it has a couple of great songs.

Wrong.

Try looking at the videoclip and pause it at 1.50 and 2:09

you have inserted two links which do not link Ghost or 'He Is' with Alamo. Only descriptions. That's why I inserted the one below.

Well, I had to check it out, nöö? I read the articles, but then googled for connection, found the article on the Metal Injection and watched videoclip. You are right. I also admit, I am a bit disappointed, that such a good track was slightly wasted for less "noble" purposes, but what can one do. Whether one like it or not, it's all connected. Also, humus, these are just thematics that were perhaps planned for Repugnant albums, but I dare to say, they are much more effective in Ghost's context. They can cause burns. And that's the aim.

Well, Tobias said this in an interview with the Dutch Aardschok-magazine. Many articles about this on the 'net, here's a link to an article in English...

Uhmm, but do you agree that the guy in the 2 single frames of the videoclip is Alamo, not the suicidal friend ... ?

(and i'm not even talking about the whole videoclip, f.e. the campy sunglasses of the singer, the church, the girls etc.etc.)

You can never guess where it's gonna come from, but you can be 100% certain that any Ghost discussion in any forum is gonna stir up some shit

The funny thing is that they are regarded as heavy metal, i actually put them on the same level of "heaviness" of Muse (and i even kinda like Muse, well, the early stuff at least)

Yes for me too. I don't see them as heavy metal, maybe the first LP and single had some moments, but later on, i would say pop.

Yes, can be. I was not familiar with the Alamo story. But I can only say what I've read many times about "He Is". Maybe Ghost/Tobias didn't want to use an image of Selim in the video clip, for whatever reason. Anyway, from early on Ghost has been very good at causing confusion in every way they present themselves (or himself :? ), right?

Sorry, but Muse is gold compared to Ghost... even if we rate them both as "pop/rock"

"Sunburn" alone (the first song of the first album) is better than all Ghost songs we have talked about, combined
