Fatal (Michigan, US) Rehearsal 8th February 1990. (Restored & mastered)
Fatal (Michigan, US) Rehearsal 8th February 1990. (Restored & mastered)
Killer little rehearsal tape here (3 tracks) by Michigan's FATAL, who were a death metal band existing from 1987 til 1991. They released 3 demo tapes, a 7"ep & a collection cd compiling all the demos & 7". Although a rehearsal tape, this recording shoud've been included in that Retrospective cd as the sound is fantastic (especially after restoration & mastering) that it sounds like a studio recording. Think Possessed's "Seven Churches" meets Morbid Angel's "Altars of Madness" & you're pretty much nailed FATAL's sound & style on here. The vocals are pretty unique sounding though, kinda like the vox on Boltthrower's debut album "In battle there is no law". Killer riffs, super tight drumming & lots of rhythm changes & dynamics in their short songs. 3 tracks in 9 minutes. Restored & mastered from a 26 year old cassette.

Gut for dinner... demo is a killer one and their most straightforward, reminds me more of RIGOR MORTIS than anything else. Their other stuff is more technical and rather forgettable for me. Cheers for uploading this rarity.

Thanks a million for uploading this! This is one of my fave old DM bands, shame that they never seemed to get the full attention that they deserved.
