I've re-ripped this tape recently. CRYSYS were from Portland, Oregon & released ONE LP in 1981 called "Hard as rock". For 1981, there wasn't a lot of genuine Heavy Metal in the US, except for a handful of bands. CRYSYS was one of them, bringing forth a sound that's pretty similar to the debut Iron Maiden LP (in terms of rough & ready metal & with Punky vocal stylings, but without the twin guitar leads etc). The singer of CRYSYS sounds very much like Rob Tyner of MC5 oddly enough. So if you dig the first Maiden album ( & without all the Proggy elements) with Rob Tyner singing, this might just be for you. This SUPER rare tape also contains 3 unreleased tracks that weren't on the LP. Restored & mastered from a 34 year old tape, Soundboard recording too. I fucking love this band & so should you if you like early US metal.10 tracks in 33 minutes.

Will check it out, the LP is excellent, one of my favorite pieces of early US metal. Thanks.

It came out killer, after the restoration/mastering. Loud & punchy

Thanks again Malegys, you got it sounding really good for a 34 year old recording.
I knocked up some CD artwork to go with it & thought i'd share it here in case anyone else was thinking of burning it onto a CD-r.
