A friend of mine did concerts in a small club in Belgium with some of the bands who were playing KIT, mostly a few days before. I remember Slough Feg and Ruffians. But as he didn't do that with the last big KIT, don't know if it's gonna happen. It's a 6/7 hour travel to KIT from here by the way. I'll keep you informed if I hear something about it.
But mostly there are bands who do a couple of shows before or after KIT in Germany of countries in the area, so you should be able to get yourself some live music before heading for KIT.

I'd love to go to Belgium. As long as theres good beer like Leffe, Duvel and Hoegaarden it should be a good gig!
Come with me Matt!

looks vitually impossible to get a guest house or hotel even this far in advance!
Is it easy to camp there? Would you have to book a spot or just turn up?

Just turn up, we put our car there and a tent next to it, as simple as that. Don't bring a new tent, 'cause the soil there is some greasy clay which sticks to everything and thus it's a lot of cleaning up...
